Automotive Industry

Automotive Industry

Automotive manufacturers and suppliers (except tyres)

Nowadays, Siegling Transilon conveyor belts and Siegling Prolink modular belts have replaced the heavy rubber belts that were used as worker belts in the past. The combined benefits of these two product lines mean conveyors can be more compact, with much more economical operation as a result.

Constant growth in the automotive industry and increasing demand mean the requirements made on production processes are rising sharply. To respond to this trend, production machinery needs to operate perfectly and very efficiently. The right choice of conveyor belt plays a pivotal role. Machinery can only work at full capacity if the correct belt’s chosen. As a supplier of conveyor belts, we can harness our industry expertise to advise you specifically on which belt to select.

For example our Siegling Prolink series 7 and 8 offer the following decisive characteristics and are:

  • extremely strong;
  • robust, abrasion- and deflection-resistant;
  • flame retardant on request, certified as “flame retardant floorings” (previously B1) in line with the DIN EN 13501 part 1 standard and/or conductive (electrical resistance < 106 Ω);
  • special designs are optionally available, such as skid-free surfaces, wheel stoppers, open areas up to 25%.

Tyre Industry

Tyre Industry

Tyre manufacturers and suppliers

Over the past few years, the tyre industry has developed at a similar pace to the automotive industry.

Diverse changes in both branches of the industry will lead to a shake-up of the industry and its global markets. Production sites are faced with rising pressure on costs and prices, tougher eco-management and sustainability requirements, shorter product life-cycles and higher development costs.

Vastly different belts are required for each of the very specialised processes in tyre manufacturing. Forbo’s portfolio of fabric-based conveyor and processing belts, as well as plastic modular belts, offers the right solution for each application.

Chemical Industry

Chemical Industry

The chemical industry also includes the manufacture of cleaning and washing agents, foam, as well as paints and varnishes.

What makes sections of the chemical industry stand out are their high level of automation, a strong increase in the value of the feedstock processed, complex process engineering and a large number of manufactured products.

Each of the highly specialised process steps requires conveyor and processing belts that are very different. The Forbo Movement Systems product ranges include fabric-based belts and plastic modular belts, offering the right belt for any of these applications.

Metalworking

Metalworking

Metalworking is encountered in diverse areas of industry and manual trades. Metalworking is required in jewellery production, tool and mould construction, to vehicle manufacture, mechanical engineering, ship- and bridge building. The demands made on the conveyors and therefore the conveyor and processing belts are very high.

For example in the most diverse of industries, different cutting and moulding systems enable flexible and efficient manufacture of top-quality metal parts in consistently large quantities, complex component shapes and processing of very strong materials. In the majority of cases, press out-feed belts are used to convey the moulded pieces of metal away from the pressing line.

Robots or feeders are used to transfer products from the press to the belts. Components can be discharged from the out-feed belts manually or automatically.

The requirements in many areas of metalworking are just as varied as the belt solutions themselves are. Forbo’s range of fabric-based conveyor and processing belts, as well as plastic modular belts, offers the right belt for each application.

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

In industrialised and customised mechanical engineering the trend’s continuing to move towards rising customer demand for tailor-made solutions. These solutions span totally new machine developments to comparatively extensive customised modifications.

Therefore, Forbo’s product range of fabric-based conveyor and processing belts, as well as plastic modular and flat belts, offers the right solution for each application.

Drag-band conveyors
The very tough Extremultus TT 15E-18 HC black (art. no. 8221469) is ideal for handling the demands of drag-band conveyors when the belts are exposed to extreme loads.

Energy

Energy

Siegling Extremultus belts excel at transmitting vast amounts of power proficiently. They are extremely efficient and often a welcome alternative to high-loss gear boxes.

We’ve developed the Siegling Extremultus power transmission belt range in close partnership with users and OEMs. As a result, it can offer a market-driven range of types for all types of power transmission.
